WHAT DID THE US GOVERMENT LEARN FROM VIETNAM
Not to give the press free rein, and nothing more
It worked for the Bushies and Humpty Trumpty, too, because
Americans shielded from the government’s underbelly
Are less likely to be horrified and object to its hegemony
As well as its use of young men and women as cannon fodder
And their tax dollars enriching the wealthy and powerful
But corporate media today need not be restrained
They’re all part of the same political daisy chain
Whether their country be right or wrong
